Supporting LGBTQ+ Students

In this workshop participants will explore evidence-based practical strategies to create safer and more inclusive environments for LGBTQ+ students. Participants will review concepts related to gender identity, gender expression, and sexual orientation and will have opportunity to update vocabularies in these areas. Ashleigh will share data-informed best practices for supporting LGBTQ+ students across settings. We will discuss strategies for talking to children, teens, and adults about gender diversity and sexual orientation. We will also review case examples to support participants in becoming better allies to the LGBTQ+ individuals in their lives.
